The library has had an important role as the data center for education and study since 1947 when the university was founded as Aichi Prefectural Women's Special College. In 1998, when we were relocated to the larger Nagakute campus, the library's floor space was tripled, and the library's system has been computerized for better data and service.

The library is open to local people in the prefecture because we like to dedicate ourselves to the development of the local community and to satisfy people's desire for a lifetime of study. Some of our book collections; for example, antique haiku books, the Shinmura Bunko of Romance linguistics in the Western medieval period, and the Hashizume Bunko collection related to W. Blake, have been highly evaluated nationally. We sincerely hope to devote ourselves to Aichi Prefecture's education, study, and culture by completing more and more of our book collections.
