at Aichi Prefectural University

Aichi Prefectural University offers an attractive learning opportunity in the suburb in harmony with the natural environment for international exchange students. The exchange program at Aichi Prefectural University has a unique structure which combines Japanese language education with active learning. For example, 'Topic Discussion' gives the opportunity to compare Japanese culture with respective origins and to share findings with other students.

There are two sections, the Student Global Mobility Office and the "iCoToBa (Multilingual Learning Center)" (*), supporting your exchange stay at Aichi Prefectural University.

iCoToBa (Multilingual Learning Center) *

iCoToBa is a place for Japanese and international students to meet. In addition to courses conducted together with Japanese students from our university, a variety of fun activities are held here. There are also opportunities for exchange, such as lunchtime discussions with Japanese students.

Student Global Mobility Office

Student Global Mobility Office, located on the 1st floor of Building E, Student Support Division, Nagakute Campus, is responsible for sending students to partner universities abroad, accepting exchange students, planning and managing various study abroad related events, and providing study abroad counseling and information about study abroad. The Study Abroad Support Office, located in the Student Support Division (1st floor of Building E) on the Nagakute Campus, dispatches students to partner universities abroad, accepts exchange students, plans and operates various study abroad related events, and provides study abroad counseling and information on study abroad. The room is equipped with materials and books related to partner universities and study abroad in general, which can be freely browsed. Office of Global Strategy

Aichi Prefectural University established the "International Office" in 2011, and has been providing a wide variety of international educational programs to many students in Japan and abroad on a stable and continuous basis. In order to further enhance these international exchange activities of the university, in 2020, this office will be separated into the " Office of Global Strategy" to promote international research and education, and the " Student Global Mobility Office" to focus on student support, in cooperation with each faculty, graduate school, and related departments. The International Strategy Office provides guidelines and strategies for university-wide international exchange and promotes external partnerships and cooperation in research and education as the university develops international exchange, mainly through inter-departmental cooperation and partnerships and cooperation with overseas universities and researchers.

In addition to the voices of dispatched and host students and unique activities, the Office also provides information on the diversity-rich exchange activities of the University from time to time via SNS and other means, with a focus on introducing international exchange activities by the University's faculty and staff.

Cross-Cultural Space (CroCuS)

The Cross-Cultural Space (CroCuS) is a facility designed to promote exchange between international students from diverse cultural backgrounds and Japanese students attending Aichi University. It will provide an environment where students from the five faculties of Humanities, Science, and Engineering can experience diverse cultures, as well as a place to disseminate research that links Aichi to the world.

Feature 1: Permanent facilities for online exchange

Large monitors, cameras, microphones, and speakers necessary for online exchange are permanently installed to provide an environment in which online exchange can begin at any time. Faculty, staff, and students can use the system according to their own purposes.

Feature 2: International Exchange Space Open at All Times

To further promote interaction between international and Japanese students outside of the classroom, the exchange space, which is always open to the public, is a raised floor (OA floor) where the layout of chairs and desks can be freely changed according to the purpose of use, and the facility is equipped with meeting spaces and partitions to suit the number of people, etc. The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of communication styles, with meeting spaces and partitions to accommodate different numbers of people.

About the nickname "CroCuS"

The name "CroCus" is an acronym for Cross-Cultural Space. The name was chosen through a public contest within the university. In Japan, the flower Crocus has the floral meaning of "the joy of youth. The name was chosen in the hope that the space will be used actively as a place to learn about cross-cultural exchange.
