My Four Years at Aichi Prefectural University

My decision to study in Japan began with a visit that left a lasting impression on me. Beyond the country’s well-known attractions, I was struck by the kindness and consideration people showed in everyday situations. Even as a foreign visitor, I felt genuinely welcomed and comfortable, which made me want to experience life here more fully. I was also drawn to Japan’s approach to education, where students join small seminar groups early on and carry out research in close collaboration with professors and senior students. This style of learning felt like a great fit for me, and it ultimately led me to choose Japan as my study destination.

My four years at Aichi Prefectural University have been both enjoyable and deeply rewarding.

When I first arrived, my Japanese was still developing, and I didn’t know anyone, so naturally I felt a bit anxious. However, thanks to the support of my assigned mentor and the welcoming atmosphere on campus, I was able to settle into university life more quickly than I had expected. I also built strong friendships with Japanese students, who treated me warmly and naturally. Visiting friends’ homes and spending time together outside of class made my university experience rich and memorable, not just academically but personally as well.

In terms of my studies, I found the learning environment especially supportive.

My academic advisor encouraged me to think independently while also providing close guidance when needed. This balance helped me grow as a researcher and confirmed the strengths of the Japanese education system that had first attracted me. The university’s location in Nagakute City also made a big difference. With its calm, natural surroundings and convenient access to shops and restaurants, it offers a comfortable and safe environment for student life.

Message to Future Aichi Prefectural University International Students

To those of you considering studying at Aichi Prefectural University, I believe you will find a place where you can truly experience the benefits of studying in Japan. It’s natural to feel some uncertainty at first, especially when adjusting to a new language and culture, but you will be supported by a welcoming community. I encourage you to take on new challenges, make meaningful connections, and enjoy a study abroad experience that is uniquely your own.
