「Academic Writing II」「Research & Discussion II」「研究演習」「研究講読 II」の授業を通じて、4年次で卒業論文を執筆し、英語でその内容について討論できるようになることを意識しながら、専門的な研究をおこなう。「研究各論（Comparative Studies）」の講義は、英語でおこなわれる。

県大の英米学科の特色は、ネイティブの先生による少人数クラスで英語4技能(読む、書く、聞く、話す)をまんべんなく学べ、そして英米の言語・文化・社会についても理解が深められる点です。高校時代には決して英語が得意ではなかった自分ですが、TOEICの点数が入学時から現在までで100点近く伸び、英語スキルの向上を実感しています。また学生生活の中で多くのボランティアに挑戦し、充実した大学生活を送っています。愛知県立大学は学生が成長できるチャンスがたくさん転がっていて、それをサポートしてくれる環境があります。ぜひ県大で様々なことにチャレンジしてみませんか。

授業内容の概要
Debate
This course covers the basics of argumentation and presentation skills required for effective public speaking. Specific topics include modeling famous speeches, rhetorical strategies, powerful body language, and other key debate skills. Students participate in many different forms of public speaking and debate throughout the course. At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze, evaluate, and deliver different types of public speaking
- Plan, prepare, and practice for a variety of debate formats
- Incorporate persuasive speaking techniques for presentations and debates
- Listen effectively about speech content
- Think critically about information
教科教育法（英語）I
中・高等学校の教員免許状（英語）取得に向けた「英語科教育」の理論と実践を学ぶ授業です。「なぜ英語を学ぶのか」（目的論）、「どのようなことを教えるのか」（内容論）、「外国語としての英語はどのように習得されるのか」（言語習得論）、「どのような教材を使うのか」（教材論）、「学習者・指導者にはどのような特性があるのか」（学習者論・教師論）などの関連諸理論に加え、４年次の「教育実習」に向け、実際に教材研究をして指導案を作成し、模擬授業を行います。自分たちが中・高等学校で英語の授業を受けてきたことを思い出しながら、新たな英語科教育の方向を見据え、今度は指導者として生徒の前に立つために、具体的・実践的な指導技術を習得します。
Communicative English III
Communicative English III is an integrated four-skills course designed to develop students’ ability to understand and discuss various academic texts critically through an activity known as Academic Reading Circles. During the course, students will read and discuss academic texts such as applied linguistics journal articles, movie studies journal articles, and editorials from broadsheet newspapers that comment on current events. By the end of the course, students will be able to read critically and differentiate between several types of academic text, understand how and why different types of academic text are structured as they are, detect bias and decide whether a source is credible, and discuss related academic concepts critically.
