日西会議・医療・司法通訳者。専門は、通訳研究、異文化コミュニケーション、言語人類学。本コミュニティ通訳学コースが開設された際に、コース担当教員として本学に着任しました。通訳とは単なることばの置き換え作業ではなく高度な知識と技術が必要な専門職です。通訳者も透明ではなく、コミュニケーションに影響を与える存在です。しかし、通訳に関して誤って理解されていることが多いため、多くのコミュニティ通訳者（行政相談通訳者、医療通訳者、司法通訳者、教育現場の通訳者など）は日本各地でジレンマを抱え、孤軍奮闘していらっしゃいます。そのようなコミュニティ通訳者のみなさんが通訳理論や通訳倫理規範を共に学ぶことにより、実践の際のジレンマを解消し、コミュニティ通訳者としての活動の場を拡げられるようサポートしたいと思っています。
Her areas of research interest include interpreting studies, intercultural communication, and linguistic anthropology. She is a Spanish-Japanese Conference, Court and Medical interpreter. She joined this university as a faculty member when the Community Interpreting Studies Course was established. Interpreting is not merely the substitution of words; it is a specialized profession that requires advanced knowledge and skills. Interpreters are not invisible; they play an influential role in communication. However, interpreting is often misunderstood, and as a result, many community interpreters—such as those working in administrative consultations, healthcare, legal settings, and educational institutions—face dilemmas and struggle in isolation across Japan. We hope to support these community interpreters by providing opportunities to study interpreting theory and professional ethics together, so they can resolve the dilemmas they face in practice and expand their roles as community interpreters.

2023年に外国語学部の英米学科に着任しました。研究者としての専門領域はアメリカ文学・文化ですが、それだけではなく、グローバル・ポピュラー・カルチャーとしての日本文学・文化も、比較文学・文化のメソッドを用いて研究しています。比較文化を学ぶ際に、翻訳・通訳の問題は避けて通ることはできません。本コースを受講する皆様のお力添えが出来るよう努めて参ります。
My primary field of research is American literature and culture. At the same time, I also study Japanese literature and culture as forms of global popular culture, employing the methodologies of comparative literature and cultural studies.　The ability to translate and interpret is essential to the study of comparative cultures. I look forward to supporting you throughout this course and helping you develop your skills and understanding in these areas.

日本語教育や地域の日本語支援を研究テーマとしたコミュニティ通訳学コース第一期生の2名を指導しました。愛知県をはじめ日本各地で地域言語は多様になり、文化背景もさまざまになってきた現在、コミュニティ通訳が果たす社会インフラとしての役割と、日本語教育、日本語支援が果たす役割は車の両輪だと考えています。私自身は、日本社会における日本語の規範や画一的な価値観について批判的な研究や「やさしい日本語」の課題への取り組みを通じて、コミュニティ通訳学コースのみなさんと、多角的な観点から議論できることを楽しんでいます。
Nowadays, regional languages and cultural backgrounds have become increasingly diverse throughout Japan, including in Aichi Prefecture. Both the role of community interpreting as part of the social infrastructure and the roles of Japanese language education and language support are essential—they are like the two wheels of a car. My research critically examines the norms of the Japanese language and the uniform values often found in Japanese society, as well as the challenges of ""Plain Japanese"" (Yasashii Nihongo).
I enjoy engaging in multifaceted discussions with students in the Community Interpreting Studies course.

本学医療分野ポルトガル語スペイン語講座（2007-2021年）実行委員を務めたほか、あいち医療通訳システム通訳養成専門会議委員（2011年～）として医療通訳者の養成に関わっています。また、医療通訳者の認証について、医学系研究者と共同研究をおこなっています。通訳の実務経験はほとんどありませんが、コミュニティ通訳を情報保障の観点から研究しています。
She served as a committee member for the Portuguese and Spanish Courses in the Medical Field at this university from 2007 to 2021. Since 2011, she has contributed to the training of medical interpreters as a member of the Aichi Medical Interpreting System Training Group. In addition, she was a member of a joint research team on the certification of medical interpreters from 2016 to 2020.

愛知県立大学「医療分野ポルトガル語スペイン語講座」（2007～2021年）の実行委員長を務め、それを発展させる形で本コースの設置準備、カリキュラム設計にかかわってきました。また、愛知県多文化共生推進室を事務局とする「あいち医療通訳システム（AiMIS）」の立ち上げ時から現在まで、同システム推進協議会の委員もしています。私の専門は中南米地域研究（特に政治・国際関係）ですが、南米出身者が多く暮らす愛知県において多文化共生の推進に関わる行政やNPO関係者との接点も多く、「社会インフラ」としてのコミュニティ通訳をどのように有効に機能させるか、通訳者の地位をどのように向上させるかについて関心があります。
As a founding member and Executive Committee Chair of Aichi Prefectural University's Outreach Program "Portuguese and Spanish in the Medical Field” (from 2007 to 2021), he was involved in preparing for this course and designing its curriculum. From 2012 he has also served as a board member of the Aichi Medical Interpretation System (AiMIS) Promotion Council, which is operated by the local government. While his specialty is Latin American area studies (particularly politics and international relations), he is working with the public sector and civil society organizations promoting multicultural coexistence in Aichi Prefecture, where many people from South America live. Interested in how to effectively utilize community interpreting as "social infrastructure" and how to improve the status of interpreters.

2008年から2021年まで、本学の「医療分野ポルトガル語スペイン語講座」に実行委員として関わり、また、2022年からは「あいち医療通訳システム通訳養成専門会議」の委員を務めています。大学院ではコミュニティ通訳学コースの必修科目である「多文化共生論」を担当していますが、この科目はコース外の学生や留学生の参加も多いことから、多言語・多文化化する日本社会にみられる事象について様々な視点や培われた経験から意見交換が行われることで、受講生のみなさんの視野を広げ、大きな学びにつながることを期待しています。
From 2008 to 2021, I was engaged in administration of the "Medical Portuguese and Spanish Courses" as a committee member. Since 2022, I have been a member of the "Expert Conference on Interpreter Training for the Aichi Medical Interpreting System". In the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, I am in charge of the class called "Multicultural Coexistence", which is a required subject for the "Community Interpreting Studies Course". In this class many students from diverse backgrounds, including international students and working adult students, are participating. I expect them to broaden their horizons and gain greater understanding through the exchange of ideas among participants, who bring various perspectives and rich experience of the multilingual and multicultural trends occurring in Japanese society.

専門はメディア史で、政治とメディアの関係や植民地ジャーナリズムという切り口から東アジア社会について研究しています。メディアとはコミュニケーションを仲立ちするものを指します。他方で、通訳者もまた異言語を仲立ちする存在と見なせます。この観点からいえば、マスメディアが無色透明な存在でないのと同様に、通訳者も自らの立場性を意識する必要があると考えています。公然とした差別があった帝国の時代にも、植民地統治のために警察通訳の養成やマスメディアの多言語化は進められていました。しかし当然ながら、多文化・多言語化していく現代社会におけるコミュニティ通訳の役割は、帝国主義の文脈とは異なるものであるはずです。こうした問題を考える上で、過去に遡って考えるメディア史のアプローチからみなさんと議論していきたいと願っています。
My academic specialization is media history. I study East Asian societies through topics such as the relationship between politics and the media, as well as colonial journalism. Media can be broadly understood as anything that mediates communication between people. In a similar way, interpreters can be seen as mediators between different languages. From this perspective, I believe that interpreters, like mass media, are never completely neutral or transparent. Rather, they need to be aware of their own social and historical positions and of how these may shape communication. Even during the age of empires, when discrimination was often openly practiced, colonial governments promoted the training of police interpreters and developed multilingual media in order to facilitate colonial administration. The role of community interpreters in today's increasingly multicultural and multilingual societies, however, should be understood in a very different context from that of imperialism. To explore these issues, I hope to engage in lively discussions with students through the lens of media history. By looking to the past, we can gain new perspectives on the challenges and possibilities of communication in the present.

2021年から本学教養教育センターの教員としてポルトガル語を教えています。本コースでは、「コミュニティ通訳翻訳演習（ポルトガル語）」と、「国際コミュニケーション(ポルトガル語）」を担当しています。村上春樹や小川洋子、川上未映子などの小説をブラジル・ポルトガル語に訳しています。また日本国内やアフリカのポルトガル語圏諸国でJICA国際協力プロジェクトのポルトガル語通訳業務に従事した経験があります。コミュニティ通訳翻訳分野では、日本で暮らすブラジル人を対象とする生活、教育、医療や行政に関わる資料の翻訳を多く手掛けました。
I have worked as an interpreter for JICA projects in Portuguese-speaking African countries (Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde), and have translated materials in education, welfare, healthcare, and public administration into Brazilian Portuguese. I have also translated books by Japanese authors, including Haruki Murakami, Yoko Ogawa, and Mieko Kawakami. In this course, I teach "Community Interpreting Practicum (Portuguese)" and "International Communication (Portuguese).

専門は翻訳理論および言語コミュニケーション論であり、現在は異文化コミュニケーションの手段としての翻訳・通訳、ならびにAI時代における日越間の翻訳・通訳のあり方について研究に取り組んでいます。また、日越間の医療・司法分野における通訳・翻訳の実務経験を踏まえ、現場で培った実践的な知見と翻訳通訳学の理論を結びつけながら、受講生の皆さんとともにコミュニティ通訳に関する学びと研究を深めていきたいと考えています。 授業では、専門的な知識の習得に加え、実践の場で求められる判断力や論理的思考力を育むことを重視しています。受講生が多様な現場で自信を持って活躍できるよう、実践と理論の両面から学びをサポートしていきます。
My areas of expertise are translation theory and language communication studies. Currently, I am conducting research on translation and interpreting as means of intercultural communication, as well as on the practices and future development of translation and interpreting between Japan and Vietnam in the age of AI. Drawing on my practical experience in translation and interpreting in the medical and legal fields between Japan and Vietnam, I aim to bridge practical knowledge gained from real-world settings with theories of translation and interpreting studies. Through this approach, I hope to deepen learning and research on community interpreting together with my students.
In my classes, I place emphasis not only on acquiring specialized knowledge but also on developing the professional judgment and logical thinking skills required in practical settings. I support students in building confidence and competence so that they can actively
